Cabarrus County starts school today, so we decided we’d have some fun with a Nerds Donut. Stay in school kids. And then after school, come get a donut.
This week was a total solar eclipse, frequently referred to as the “Great American Eclipse.” On Monday, August 21, 2017, the eclipse was visible within a band across the entire contiguous United States passing from the Pacific to the Atlantic coasts.
So we’re serving a Total Eclipse Donut all week, with chocolate icing and chocolate sprinkles.
Even though the eclipse is already over, chocolate will continue being delicious all week long.
We’re celebrating the last week of summer vacation with a key lime donut, sprinkled with graham cracker.
We’re using real key lime juice, but not too much, to make sure it’s just enough sweet, sour, and bright. A fantastic flavor in the last week before school starts up in Cabarrus County.
Come in and try it, and of course we’ll include one in every Downtown Dozen.
We’re continuing this wonderful summer with a classic summertime flavor, orange creamsicle. This is the Downtown Donut this week, and we’ll include one in every Downtown Dozen.
We might not be able to get away with this next month, but in the middle of August? It works great. This icing has just enough orange to remind you it’s summer, sweet, and bright.
We promise it’s delicious. We ate a few more than usual while testing this one.
The blue just looks great, and then when you add some large sugar crystals, it makes the whole donut sparkle. The sugar adds some sparkle, but it also give the donut a small crunch, which makes this a new favorite.
We were looking for something to tie into summer pool parties and beach trips. We decided to keep it simple though. No extra colors or toppings, blue and sparkly, and hard to go wrong.
This week, our Downtown Donut is similar to strawberry shortcake: strawberry icing sprinkled with powdered sugar.
Our strawberry icing was very popular from our first week’s special. We get asked for it all week long, so we’re bringing it back in a simple way. It’s delicious! And we’ll include one in every Downtown Dozen.
This week, our Downtown Donut is Vanilla icing and Mini M&Ms! Saturday is your last day to try it!
We’ll be open July 4th from 8-8 as usual. Come by and grab a patriotic dozen to share (or a few dozen).
If you love downtown Concord, and delivering great customer service, apply here.
A quick update that we are hopefully in our last week of reviews from the county to start serving you fresh and hot donuts.
Once we have that, we should have a better idea of our open date. Once we do, we’ll let you know. We’ve heard from several people wondering if we’re hiring.
The answer is that yes, we are hiring, but we don’t have a date yet. We don’t want to have anyone waiting to work (we already wish you didn’t have to wait for donuts!).
